The courses aim to prepare you to be a safe practitioner, with the theoretical knowledge and expertise you need to confidently diagnose and manage the most challenging infections and oral manifestation of systemic diseases and confidently manage infection control in dental settings.

Taught by renowned international academics and experts in the field, you will learn how to effectively apply theory to practice in a safe learning environment. You will be exposed to an intensive mix of lectures, seminars and practical workshops (blended and full-time courses) using advanced clinical case scenarios, simulations, as well as contemporary ways of learning evidence-based medicine and problem solving. You will have the opportunity to discuss with peer students from other courses for a multidisciplinary approach and develop sound judgement based on evidence.

You will attend two intensive week-long residential schools in each year of this course in our College in central Birmingham. Teaching will include seminars, practical interactive workshops, clinical scenarios, and training on phantom heads and simulated models.

You will study on a full time basis in our state-of-the-art College in central Birmingham. The course is delivered over 40 weeks per year, and you will be exposed to diverse techniques and approaches. Teaching will include seminars, practical interactive workshops, problem based learning sessions, clinical scenarios, and training on phantom heads and simulated models. You will learn from a multidisciplinary team and gain professional experience from the experts of each field.

Masters of Science (MSc) in Advanced Clinical and Diagnostic Oral Sciences

Full Time
Length of course: 3 years
360 UK credits, 180 ECTS credits, 72 US credits

You will study on a full time basis in our state-of-the-art College in central Birmingham. The course is delivered over 40 weeks per year, and you will be exposed to diverse techniques and approaches. Teaching will include seminars, practical interactive workshops, problem based learning sessions, clinical scenarios, and training on phantom heads and simulated models. You will learn from a multidisciplinary team and gain professional experience from the experts of each field.

In this variant, students complete all core and optional modules over three-year duration.

Flexibility to exit with a Post-Graduate Certificate (PG-Cert) or Post-Graduate Diploma (PG-Dip) in Clinical and Diagnostic Oral Sciences.

Requirements:

Full Time Applicants

  • Undergraduate Degree in Dentistry, and
  • Letter of good standing or equivalent from an appropriate regulatory dental body, and
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate evidence of professional indemnity cover

English Language Requirements

Our courses require a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score under 5.5. If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
